Angtini
cattery is located in Mentor, Ohio. We have been showing
and breeding Maine Coons for nearly 18 years. We are members
of the Maine Coon Breeders and Fanciers Association, as
well as the Maine Coon Cat CFA Breed Council. Our
cattery is registered in CFA. We show exclusively in CFA.
It is the largest and most prestigious registry. We have
had many Grand Champions, both male and female, as well
as National and Regional winners.
Showing and breeding Maine Coons is
a fun hobby for us. We are a small cattery, with usually
just 2 males and 3 or 4 females. We produce Brown, Red
and Silver Tabbies, with and without White. We welcome
inquiries from responsible pet buyers.
A few growing concerns with Maine Coons
are HIP DYSPLASIA and HCM (HYPER-TROPHIC CARDIOMYOPATHY).
Hip dysplasia is no more prevalent in this breed
than any other breed. However, it is more
prevalent in some lines. I have had all my
breeding cats rated by OFA as a precaution. Even my young
breeding cats are rated, prior to my making a final decision
on whether to keep them in my program.
HCM is another concern. Other breeders
I work with and myself are concerned with this potential
problem. We have been screening our cats for about 6 years.
We hope this will give us all better information in breeding
these wonderful cats. |
